I've stopped receiving Purezone push notifications on my Android phone, what can I do?

Push notifications on Android devices can sometimes stop after you switch to a new phone and transfer the phone data from the old phone using Samsung Smart Transfer Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or USB Cable.

The transfer from the old phone to the new phone may not have copied over the required Purezone app permissions from the old phone.

The same issue can occur if you transfer from an iPhone to an Android using the "Switch to Android App", Google Drive or USB cable method.

Push notifications can also stop if you inadvertently disabled Purezone App permissions during a software uninstall / reinstall or made changes to Notification settings in your Android phone's Settings menu.

Follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve:

Enable Notifications in the Purezone app

  1. Launch the Purezone App
  2. Tap the Gear icon (Settings) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Ensure the toggle switch to turn on Push notifications is turned "On"

Enable Notifications for Purezone in Android Settings

  1. On your Android device tap Settings
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Tap App notifications
  4. Scroll down to Purezone
  5. Ensure that the Notifications toggle switch is turned ON to allow notifications
  6. You can also tap on the Purezone App notifications icon for more notifications alert options including sounds and vibration, silent, notification types, etc.

Allow Notifications in Purezone App Permissions in Android Settings

  1. On your Android device tap Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Scroll down to Purezone
  4. Tap on Purezone
  5. Under notifications, ensure that "Allowed" is displayed
  6. At "Remove permissions if app is unused" - Change the Toggle switch from On to Off. This will prevent the Purezone App permissions from being removed if the Purezone app on the Android phone or tablet is infrequently used.

After you have performed all of the above steps, wait for your next scheduled Daily or every other Day Measurement to occur.  You should now receive Push Notifications to your Home Screen.
