Purezone cassettes use water chemistry pads to perform water chemistry measurements of your pool water. These water chemistry pads can degrade if exposed to extreme cold or hot temperatures.
If the cassettes are exposed to hot or cold temperature extremes, the chemical reagents on the pads will degrade, making them unable to provide accurate water chemistry readings.
When this degradation occurs on some of the pad reagents, the water chemistry values displayed in the app will be lower than the actual readings. For example, instead of showing the actual FC reading, the app will display 0.0 FC.
CASSETTE STORAGE:
- Purezone cassettes should be stored in their original foil packaging. They should be stored indoors in a location that is not exposed to direct sunlight and/or hot or cold temperature extremes
- Each cassette comes wrapped in foil packaging. The foil packaging should only be removed just prior to inserting the cassette in your Purezone
- Cassettes should not be stored in a Garage or outdoor Pool Cabana if the garage or pool cabana is not heated and subject to either hot or cold temperature extremes throughout the year
- Unused cassettes have a 2-year storage life when stored in the original foil packaging, indoors and not exposed to extremes of heat or cold
