Yes.

In order for the Purezone to work optimally, you should always keep your spa clear of any debris and contaminants.

It is very important to keep the cover on your spa at all times except when you are in the spa, cleaning it or balancing the chemicals.

What will happen if I do not cover the spa and there is small debris and contaminants?

Common types of contaminants:

Common types of debris:

  • Insects
  • Leaves
  • Flower petals
  • Twigs from shrubs or trees
  • Cottonwood seeds
  • Poplar Tree buds

Optical Window obstructed - How to resolve

  1. Remove the Purezone from the spa
  2. Ensure that the spa is clean - without any debris, including regular cleaning of the spa filters
  3. Remove the cassette from the Purezone lab unit
  4. Check the bottom of the lab unit for any debris.  If there is any debris, remove it
  5. Using a clean cotton cloth dampened with water, wipe the optical window(s) clean
  6. Gently rinse the cassette in clean water to remove any debris
  7. Replace the cassette so that it is fully inserted
  8. Replace the Purezone in the spa ensuring that the metal strip on the lab unit is pointing toward the spa water and not toward the back of the spa

Ensure the spa water pump is turned on and do a "Measure Now" in the app.  If you are within 6-10 feet of the Purezone, the measurement will complete in about 8 - 13 minutes.  If you are not within 6-10 feet of the Purezone, the measurement will complete in about 45 minutes.
