Purezone Spa Sharing

  • Purezone Spa Sharing allows you to share your Purezone spa with friends and family and even your pool boy!
  • Spa Sharing is ideal if you are planning a vacation and want a trusted family member or friend to take care of your spa while you are away.

After you have shared your spa with them, they will have the same visibility into your Purezone spa and spa conditions that you do through the Purezone app.  

  • View the Measurement Time (every other day or every day) for your spa
  • View the status of Supply Levels and Battery Strength
  • View daily or every other day Water Chemistry values that the Purezone measures, FC/TB, pH and TA
  • View Alerts for any Water Chemistry parameters that are not in the Normal Range
  • View the Advice that the Purezone app recommends to bring the Water Chemistry parameter back in the normal range
  • Perform a Measure Now from the Shared Spa profile. (Note:  The Measure Now will take up to 45 minutes to complete since it is done over Wi-Fi).

What they cannot do:

  • View your Profile Settings
  • Change your Wi-Fi Settings
  • Delete your spa
  • Contact Purezone Support - For security, only the Registered owner of the Purezone can contact Customer Support

How to Set Up Spa Sharing

Important:  Before setting up Spa Sharing, contact the person ahead of time, ensure you have their correct email address and let them know to be on the lookout for an email invitation from Purezone.

Let the person know that they will need to:

  • Download the Purezone app and create a Purezone account using that email address. 
  • Have the email service configured on the same phone where they have the Purezone app installed, i.e. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo! Mail.  Android has separate Apps for Outlook, AOL and Yahoo! Mail.
  • iPhone users can either download the email App or go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Add Account and add their email account, i.e. Google, Yahoo!, Aol, Outlook or "Other"

If they did not receive the Purezone invitation have them search their inbox for the subject: "You've been invited to see the spa conditions" and also check their Junk or Spam folders.  

  1. Ensure you have downloaded the latest version of the Purezone app from the Google Play Store (coming soon!) or the Apple App Store
  2. Note:  If you have multiple spas, ensure you are viewing the profile of the spa you wish to share.  Ensure the correct spa name appears at the top middle of the Purezone App Status screen. 
  3. Tap the Gear Settings icon in the upper right-hand corner
  4. Tap Spa Sharing
  5. At the Spa Sharing screen you will see "Share your spa information with another user, Family, Tenant, etc.  The user will have access to all the functions of monitoring and managing the spa."
  6. Enter the email address of the person you wish to share your spa with
  7. Tap Share
  8. An email will be sent by Purezone to the email address of the person you designated
  9. At the bottom of the Sharing page in the Purezone app, the person's email address will appear with a "pending" status.  Once the person accepts the spa sharing invitation, installs the Purezone App and then opens the link again from the email app on the phone to accept the invitation, the status will change to "accepted"
  10. The person will receive an email with the subject "You've been invited to see the spa conditions!" and the option to Accept the invitation by tapping Accept
  11. After they tap Accept  and they are using the email app on their phone, they will be re-directed to the App Store or Google Play (Coming soon!) to download the Purezone App.  If they tap Accept from the email app on their desktop computer, they will see the following instructions: 
  12. After your friend or family member downloads the Purezone app and creates an account using that same email address, they will see a screen like this in the Purezone app asking them to "Add Spa" or "Go to Profile"

  14. Your friend needs to launch the email app on their phone, and return to the email invitation from Spa and click on "Accept" again.

NOTE:  If you are on an iPhone and the above message does NOT appear and instead a browser window is displayed using Chrome or Safari, you will need to make a change in iOS settings so that the link will be opened by the Purezone app.  See the note at the bottom of this page for more information.
  19. Tap Accept
  20. Your spa will now appear in your friend's Purezone app

  22. Your spa will appear in their app:  [Your Name] followed by the spa name, i.e. [Mike S] sense2
  23. In your Purezone app, the Sharing status will be updated from "pending" to "accepted"

How do I cancel Spa Sharing?

Note:  Only you, the spa owner can cancel Spa Sharing.  The person who you shared your spa with, cannot cancel Spa Sharing or delete the spa.  Follow the steps below to cancel Spa Sharing with someone which will delete the spa from their Purezone app.

  1. Launch the Purezone app
  2. Tap the Gear icon (Settings)
  3. Tap Spa Sharing
  4. Tap the X next to the name and email address of the person you previously shared the spa with

  6. When prompted to disable access, tap Disable

  8. Slide your finger down from the top of the app to refresh the app.  The previous sharing will have disappeared.

IPhone - Not launching Purezone app

  • This can occur if you have configured URLs in Emails to not launch apps, but instead launch in browsers.  
  • Instead of the Purezone app launching, you will see a browser window like this displayed in Chrome
  • To resolve, Temporarily uninstall Chrome on your iPhone
  • Return to the Email App on your iPhone and click on the Invite again
  • The following notification will appear:
  • Tap on "Default browser app - Configure in iOS settings" 
  • After you do that, the Purezone app will launch and display the following message:

Unable to Share Spa - Call Sharing Error

  • If you receive the error "Call Sharing Error" and are unable to share you spa, contact Purezone Support.  A system issue might be preventing spa sharing from working correctly. 
  • Click here to submit a Support Request.
