If you plan to close your spa during the winter season and/or you plan on leaving your home for a winter vacation, you should remove and store the Purezone. Proper storage ensures that the device is not exposed to freezing temperatures which will damage the Purezone and invalidate the Warranty.
To store the Purezone device during the winter season or if not being used, follow these steps:
- Remove the Purezone from the spa
- Remove and dispose of the cassette - Once the cassette has been exposed to water, the pads will lose their ability to test if dried out and stored for any period of time
- Reinstall a new cassette when you plan on using the Purezone again in your spa
- Ensure that the device is dry and devoid of water
- Store the device in a non-freezing dry place (>50°F).
- Any cassettes still in their foil wrap should also be stored in a non-freezing dry place (>50°F)
Do I need to change anything in the Purezone App?
- No. You will receive notices that the battery needs to be charged until the battery strength is completely depleted. As soon as the battery pack is depleted, the Purezone device will go Offline since it is no longer connected to Wi-Fi. The Purezone app will display "No connection for XXX days".
- When you re-open the spa again, just charge the battery pack and place the Purezone back in your spa.
- The device will re-connect to your Wi-Fi network (Unless you have changed your router, SSID, Network Password, etc.)
- If you have changed your Wi-Fi network connection, simply tap Settings > Wi-Fi Settings
- Tap on the name of the SSID of your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
Note: It is advisable to remove the Purezone when the spa water temperature drops below 50°F.
You should also closely monitor the outside temperature. If freezing temperatures 32°F or lower are forecast, the Purezone should be removed from the spa and stored inside the home.
Leaving the Purezone in freezing temperatures 32°F or lower will damage the device. Doing so invalidates the warranty.
